Took them three clues

It only took three clues to find the Oktoberfest medallion.

It was under a rock near the Bud Hendrickson Bridge on the north side of La Crosse.

The clue that led Keith Torgerud and his brother Mark to that area, referred to John Logan, for whom Logan High School was named. It also hinted about Logan Street originally being named Cameron Street.

The brothers from Onalaska are part of a group of about 30 that teamed up to find the medallion. The group calls itself Nine Cents.

“Next year, we’re probably going to have 50 people looking for it,” Keith said.

Members of the team said references to Logan High School led them to the area.

If the search had lasted until Monday, the eighth clue would have included lines about Richie Cunningham of the TV show Happy Days and the fictional invisible rabbit Harvey.

Both Harvey and Cunningham Streets are near where the medallion was concealed.
