Onalaska High students taking college courses come fall
Classes will cost school $36,000
There are 34 Onalaska High School students taking college courses next fall.
Director of Instruction Roger Fruit says the students have to uphold high standards.
“They have to meet the higher education institution’s standards for admission,” Fruit said. “They have to make the classes fit into their schedules. And they do have to reimburse the district if they would happen to not pass that course.”
Of those 34 students, 16 are involved in Western Technical College’s Certified Nursing Assistant program. The estimated cost for the school is $36,000.
“It is an awfully good thing for students, who have exhausted their opportunities in certain areas of coursework at the high school to pick up these college credits,” Fruit said.
