La Crosse falls short on traffic-related revenue
Ramps, however, bring
in much more than expected
The city of La Crosse narrowly fell short of its predictions for traffic-related revenue in 2015, despite getting much more cash than expected from downtown parking ramps.
A new monthly report shows the city missing its parking revenue goal for the year by $12,000.
The parking ramps, however, took in $27,000 more than predicted from the $.75-per-hour fee. The ramps made $135,000 from those gates – $13,000 from the holiday shopping season, which included three days when the ramps were free.
Money from on-street parking tickets, including tickets at the Western Technical College campus, appear to account for much of the shortfall.
