Powell Park could be converted for kids with autism

Within a few months, Powell Park in La Crosse is expected to have a playground specifically designed for kids with autism.

At 5:30 p.m. tonight at the Eco-Park building in Myrick Park, there will be a meeting with a playground equipment maker recruited for the project.

The city park department says only a small number of “inclusive playgrounds” built for children with unique physical needs exist in the U.S. now.
