Two groups watched presidential candidate speak online

A few dozen people met in La Crosse Wednesday night to eat and drink, talk politics and to hear from a presidential candidate.

Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders spoke via satellite, and two groups in La Crosse were watching, listening.

While the crowd at a La Crosse community center listened quietly during most of the Sanders speech, there was a moment or two when the audience applauded.

Sanders said the rich in America have gotten richer, while everybody else has gotten poorer. He called for an increase in the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

Other Sanders’ supporters watched the webcast at the Old Crow bar in downtown La Crosse.
