Heroin may have gotten local headlines in the last five years, but meth never went away as a regional drug problem. In fact, some people who were locked up years ago for making meth are back in the business, according to Tom Johnson from the MEG drug task force of western Wisconsin.  He says they were locked up for a number of years but are back in the business.

On the other hand, Johnson tells a La Crosse County drug committee that ‘home cooking’ of meth isn’t as popular any more among some users. He says they prefer to buy meth that comes from ‘superlabs’ by way of the Twin Cities.
