Campaign Contribution Limit Increase Faces Little Resistance in New Legislature

Coming off hugely expensive elections in Wisconsin, some are worried they could become even more so.  A proposal to double campaign contributions for state elections seems increasingly likely in the upcoming legislative session.  Something that would benefit almost no one, says Wisconsin Democracy Campaign’s Mike McCabe.  No one except lawmakers and wealthy donors
 
 
 
 
 
 
A  bill to double campaign contributions passed the assembly in the last session but could get a senate vote because of the resistance of a few moderate republicans.  Those senators won’t be back in Madison in the next session.
