Kind Becomes 1st Congressman In His District To Win 10 Terms

Ron Kind sets a record in the 3rd District…

The La Crosse Democrat becomes the first Congressman in the history of his district to win 10 terms in the House.  That beats the record Kind had shared with Republican Gardner Withrow, who was first elected in the 1930’s.  Kind withstood a challenge from Republican Tony Kurtz, who had portrayed the incumbent as someone that the voters knew little about, and who is more interested in helping big donors than in assisting citizens:

Kind says in the new term, he expects to remain on the budget-setting Ways and Means Committee.
