Former La Crosse Cop Back in Jail
A La Crosse County judge, Wednesday issued a warrant for Brian Thomson, a former La Crosse cop convicted of stealing drugs from an evidence room, after he tested positive for alcohol on Sunday. He was booked into the La Crosse County Jail about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The former lieutenant was sentenced by a Monroe County judge to three months in jail and three months on electronic detention. Thomson weas ordered Wednesday to serve the remaining jail time, behind bars.
The 44 year old Thomson pleaded guilty in La Crosse County late last year to stealing fake prescription pills from the P.D. after La Crosse investigators set up a sting and caught him. Investigators believe Thomson illegally opened about 60 packages of drugs seized and used them while working.
