Police Pleased by Extra Enforcement of Bike and Ped

An extra enforcement exercise by La Crosse police is already being considered a success.  Lieutenant Pat Hogan says the city’s high visibility bike and pedestrian enforcement has had police stopping dozens during just a handful of deployments

The department has received ten thousand in federal grant money to enforce and educate about bicycle and pedestrian traffic laws.  The high visibility enforcement actions are directed towards areas that typically see a high number of biking and walking accidents.  Especially along West Avenue near the UWL.
