La Crosse Still Avoiding Keeping Water Taps Running

Not quite to the point where people in La Crosse are dribbling water out of the faucets to keep water lines from freezing.  But with frost permeating the soil to depths of five to six feet, that’s not out of the discussion

City water utility manager Mark Johnson.  His crews continue to battle frozen water lines for property owners.  Anywhere from four to eight per day, Johnson figures.  Any more than that, he says, and water taps will have to be left on so his crews can keep up.
