Library Task Force Still On Drawing Board
The next move in deciding the future of La Crosse’s three libraries is in the mayor’s hands…
Library director Kelly Krieg Sigman says Mayor Tim Kabat has not yet appointed a task force to look at ways to keep the South Branch library open beyond next year. The library board voted this month to use reserve funds and other money to avoid closing the south-side branch. At that meeting, Kabat said a task force would look into future library needs. Meanwhile, Krieg Sigman says some reduction of library hours is still being considered to save money during 2013.
