There are plenty of neighborhood campaign efforts in the run up to Wisconsin’s primary election on Tuesday.

This weekend, La Crosse area Democrats gathered to knock on doors and campaign over the phone.

Candidates who reached out to voters included La Crosse County Board hopeful Kelly Leibold, who wants voters to learn more about the people running for local office.

“I hope folks realize that your locally elected officials impact your daily life more than those in D.C.,” Leibold told reporters Saturday at the La Crosse County Democratic Party headquarters. “It’s important to not only know who represents you locally, but to elect local leaders that align with your values.”

Leibold added that she tries to keep in touch with voters.

Part of the organizing meeting at the county office Saturday on State Road was spent instructing people on ways to use social media to promote candidates.

La Crosse County voters will have school board and county board races to decide on Tuesday, as well as a contest for circuit judge.

Apparently, the election is only for Democrats. No Republicans or independents could be reached for comment.

    Such tripe.
