Attack ad in La Crosse judicial race shameful

Published

on

Races for local judgeships used to be rather sleepy affairs. Oh, the good old days. A new attack ad in a La Crosse judicial race shows just how nasty these races have become. I received a mailing this week from a political action committee that portrayed La Crosse County judge candidate Mark Huesmann in a less than flattering light. It looks like from the flyer that he is dressed as the devil, and that his crime is being appointed to the post by Governor Tony Evers. Evers appointed Huesmann last July to fill the remainder of the term of Judge Todd Bjerke, who retired. The flyer accused Huesmann of cajoling with democrats, and urges voters instead to vote for his opponent, Candice Tlustosch. Let’s consider for a moment that neither candidate is running with a “D” or “R” in front of their name. The La Crosse County judge’s race is officially nonpartisan. But that isn’t stopping big political action committees with deep pockets from trying to swing the outcome. The fact is Huesmann is highly respected. Huesmann has served as court commissioner and municipal judge for 20 years. He helped create the successful veteran’s treatment court in La Crosse County. He is a military veteran, a retired Army Colonel with 29 years of military experience. He is not the devil, despite groups paying big money to try to convince you he is. Neither is his opponent. Vote for your favorite candidate for judge in Tuesday’s election, but don’t make your choice because you think one candidate is working with Satan.

Huesmann was appointed by Dem Gov Evers and is endorsed by the entire cohort of current area judges, all of whom are raging liberals. So yes, this is a partisan race.

So if you want repeat offenders continuing their crime sprees in La Crosse, vote for him.

Leave it to the Dem minions at WIZM to try to call it otherwise.

There are extremists at both ends of the spectrum. Judge Huesmann is not. He is fair and balanced. He has extensive experience. Do we allow an extremist out of state billionaire influence our local nonpartisan election?

The election of Judge Janet to the WI supreme court was also supposed to be non-partisan. Yet it was the most disgusting, unprofessional, and partisan supreme court race ever in Wisconsin, drawing derision from across the nation. Out of state Dem dark money and law firms pushed her over the finish line.

So WIZM can pretend these races are non-partisan; but that is only a fool’s message or message for a fool.

Saying that Huesmann is supported by radical liberals who want to go easy on violent criminals is hardly an “attack ad”.

    It’s factually TRUE!

I think Huesmann is a whiner. And of course Scott Robert Democ-rat is defending the radical liberals.

    Great reason to Vote Tlustosch.

The flyer in question does’t mention any political party.

Maybe it is more about the issues than WIZM cares to honestly admit.
