As I See It

DeSantis suddenly likes Trump

Published

on

Politics sure is a funny business. Ron Desantis has spent more than a year trashing Donald Trump. He told supporters in Iowa that you can be a great conservative candidate, but if you don’t kiss the ring, then Trump will try to trash you. Suddenly he is puckering up. Just hours after leaving the presidential race, DeSantis threw his support behind the front-runner, offering an endorsement for Donald Trump. It has become a familiar scene. Many whom Trump has trashed have worked diligently to get back in his good graces. DeSantis must have had to swallow hard to provide his endorsement after the way he was treated on the campaign trail. Trump had suggested DeSantis groomed children, and referred to him by derogatory nicknames like DeSanctimonious, and Meatball Ron. Trump claimed DeSenatis eats pudding his fingers. He questioned DeSantis’ manhood, and even went after Governor DeSantis’ wife Casey and accused her of attempting to commit organized voter fraud. But now DeSantis is standing in line with the rest who dared to take on Trump, and is now working to get back in his good graces. With all the insults and attacks Trump has hurled at his rivals, you wonder if there is any straw that could break the camel’s back.

Apparently, you forgot to mention how Kamala Harris thought Biden could do no wrong after she was picked to be V P.

    “Desantis suddenly likes Trump”

Is WIZM stuck in third grade? It’s called unifying behind the winner. It’s a tradition as old as party politics.

That’s different from the DNC screwing Bernie Sanders over several elections, and denying RFK jr secret service protection, and Basement Biden refusing to participate in both the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries…all in the name of “democracy” of course.

Scott, I will agree with you on your comment, but only to a very limited extent. It is extremely unwise for members of the same party to be so critical of one another, and then a short time later completely changed their tune. Candidates should speak about their own vision, and why Their vision is best and refrain from attacking the other. Unfortunately, members of the major parties never seem to learn this lesson.

With that said, I must point out your continuing bias, In this case, by omission. Kamala Harris was downright hateful towards Joe Biden during the primary season Calling him a racist among other things, and Joe, Biden was nasty towards Kamala as well. Then, all was forgiven when he picked her to be his running mate, based not upon merit, but because she’s a person of color and a woman. I encourage you to recognize both major parties engage in politics of destruction, not just Republicans.

I have mentioned that all of us citizens need to come to the center including Scott and the reporting team here. The above mention controversies in this are all valid points. Pointing it out as a political (both parties) is fair reporting. The divisiveness in our country comes when the finger pointing goes one way such as us democrats saying that the “Republican’s” rally behind Trump after they have competed. I remember very clearly during the 2020 Democratic debates, Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, shoot even Bernie Sanders all had issues with the DNC including Michael Bloomberg. Then as some of the folks on here have stated when Desantis backs Trump, it is very hypocritical for us Democrats and this blog to point the finger at them when our own party such as Harris supporting Biden did them same if not more controversial. Myself, I think we would be better served on these platforms to focus and turn our attention on things that compromise and do good for the majority of citizens not a small fringe.
