Charges in the death of Madeline Kingsbury of Winona have just become more serious.
A grand jury from Winona County is filing new first-degree murder charges against Kingsbury’s former partner, Adam Fravel.
Before now, Fravel had been charged only with second-degree homicide in the woman’s murder earlier this year.
Kingsbury was reported missing in March, after taking her young children to day care in Winona. Following weeks of public searches, police found her remains in June.
Fravel was arrested upon the discovery of those remains. He is scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday on the new charges. Fravel is the father of Kingsbury’s children.
