An update on Copper Rocks development — old Kmart lot in La Crosse

Published

on

Jeremy Novak with Three-Sixty Real Estate Solutions joined La Crosse Tal PM to discuss the Copper Rocks development, which is the former Kmart lot next to one of La Crosse’s busiest intersections.

La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:06 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk PM wherever you get your podcasts.

Last time Novak joined, he talked about plans to tear the Kmart down. That hasn’t happened, so we ask why, and what’s in store for that lot. We also discussed some other properties Three-Sixty has developed in the Coulee Region.

Yes, everyone knows the location. Housing? I hope it’s affordable for retired people who have worked a full life. Build a mental hospital and fill it up. Then the housing and meals will be provided.

Why do we need more luxury apartments in lacrosse,U all thinks it’s easy for people to be homeless have no where to go it’s not. U taken away any rights that the homeless have. Some of us are there due to circumstances beyond our control.chaving a place where u know people that help u mentally and physically and don’t judge. We can’t help the position we’ve been put it. I had no where no one so the police dropped me at Cameron Park to start to stay. I’m disabled yet coullee cap has no funding for person’s like me. We’re disabled and labeled as vagrants u don’t know how that sets a person up. A lot of us were funded by wera and due to that we’re on the streets cause we can’t afford the rent.vthey raise ur rent and then evict u and that alone doesn’t help get an apartment.vim over 60 and live in a park. What park I won’t say. I feel and broke my hip and femur. I’m losing my service animal cause there’s no one to take care of him. He’s my partner because I fell and broke and don’t have a home I loose my companion of 13 yrs. Non of it fair. U have an eviction u can’t get in anywhere. May having some low income housing instead of luxury apartments would actually help the the elderly and disabled. Think about it. Most of us have little or no income were on SSI or can’t work have no income. We’re human not trash.

Why are the city leaders allowing the de-beautification of La Crosse’s natural resourses (bluffs). Putting up a four story building in the middle of a sleppy, but already crowded neighhood. Blocking the view of those natural resources should be of major concern to the thousands that have enjoyed their neiborhood and paid taxes for many years. Frankly, it’s gross!

Would like to see an outdoor mall similar to Tanger Outlets on the Old K-Mart site. Not too exciting for retail on this end of town.
