Criminal charges have now been filed against a father and son from La Crosse, both accused of severely beating a 78-year-old neighbor.

Forty-year-old Jorge Compan and his teenage son, Kavi, each face three charges, including physical abuse of an elderly person, and aggravated battery.

Kavi’s younger brother allegedly was hit by a rock thrown by the older neighbor. Prosecutors say the neighbor required surgery to remove part of his intestines, and his stomach was ruptured when he was beaten.

The Compans have both appeared before Judge Gloria Doyle this week.
