For now, 31-year-old Chauncy Turner faces just one charge of sexual assault of a child, along with installing a surveillance device as an invasion of privacy.

The La Crosse County District Attorney’s office is still preparing charges in the case, but a prosecutor said Turner reportedly was in contact with multiple young children.

Bond for Turner is set at $10,000 cash. He’s due back in court on Tuesday.

During a hearing on Thursday, Judge Ramona Gonzalez said a cash bond was appropriate in the case.

Turner, who lost a city council race in District 13 back in 2021, is ordered to have no contact with any children under 18.
