The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse recently received a $10,000 grant from the AT&T Foundation to help the club build a new academic center.

The center will provide kids with a place to do homework, receive tutoring and computer access. It will also provide an online learning program to give additional help in reading and math skills.

Many youth in the area do not have reliable access to internet or devices to do their homework. The Boys and Girls Clubs hopes to change that.

“Many of our youth face challenges having the technology and digital resources they need to be successful in school,” said Jake Erickson, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse. “With this grant from the AT&T Foundation, we are excited to provide support to our youth who face digital barriers to academic success.”

AT&T committed to donate over $2 billion to help students and consumers have access to reliable and affordable high speed internet.
