Four U.S. House of Representative candidates are running for the Democratic nomination in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District.

All four — Rebecca Cooke, Deb McGrath, Mark Neumann, Brad Pfaff — spent a few minutes answering three questions to help voters better get to know them heading into the end of primary voting on Tuesday (Aug. 9). None of the candidates knew the questions beforehand.

The winner of Tuesday’s primary will face Republican Derrick Van Orden, who is running unopposed. This is an open seat, as Democratic Rep. Ron Kind is retiring after representing Wisconsin for 13 terms.

At the bottom of the story is a debate held late last month and hosted at UW-La Crosse amongst the candidates.

Here are the three questions and below are their answers:

  1. Give me your credentials for being in Congress.
  2. What would your Top 3 priorities be in the US House?
  3. If you could snap your fingers and change something in politics and you didn’t have to jump through any hoops to do it, just poof and it’s changed, what would it be? And why?
