As I See It

Taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for Gableman’s bungled investigation

The price tag for a misguided witch hunt into Wisconsin’s election continues to climb. And once again taxpayers are left footing the bill. A judge has ruled that the man hired to investigate Wisconsin’s 2020 presidential election for evidence of fraud has to pay $163,000 in attorney fees after he failed to comply with the state’s open records law. That after another judge found Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, who hired Michael Gableman to investigate the election, must pay nearly $100,000 in attorney fees after being found in contempt of court. Couple that with the nearly $700,000 budgeted for this bogus investigation and the price tag for this so-called investigation has pushed upward of one million dollars. And all of it to be paid by taxpayers. This search for election fraud was misguided, and greatly mishandled. There was zero evidence of any fraud found. Gableman hung out with the My Pillow guy looking for clues, illegally deleted public records, barked at a judge when told to produce them, and now gets a big fat fine thrown his way. But Gableman isn’t on the hook for a penny, despite his bungling and bravado. Taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for his bad behavior. Speaker Vos should deduct the cost of the fines from Gableman’s paycheck. Taxpayers have wasted enough on this mess as it is.

I am in total agreement with Mr. Shaw. We, as taxpayers should not have to pay for any of this debacle. This is all based on a lie by Donald Trump, proven to be a lie by Donald Trump and shown that President Biden won the election. The RNC should pay for all of this. They seem to have no problem paying for Trump’s legal bills. They should put there money where their mouth is! Maybe it’s time for all of these so called GOP “Patriots” to be replaced in Nov. Put Democrats and Independents in charge of our tax money. VOTE!!!

WOW, Shaw and Debra must not remember this little thing from back in 2016, what was it called, oh yeah…the Steele Dossier! Last I heard, the taxpayers were on the hook for about $35 million. That could have all been avoided if not for the BIGGER lie…Trump/Russia Collusion. If Hillary and her Democrat buddies would not have lied and intentionally misled the voters we would not have had to pay for that fiasco either. Debra is correct…VOTE!!! But, think of your life now and how it was under the big mean man and vote for real issues in mind, not an R or D.
