Lane closures in La Crescent as new pedestrian bike bridge is built

Published

on

A lane closure and possible delays in La Crescent for the next few days as the city installs a new pedestrian bicycle bridge.

The closure will be in effect now through the end of the day Thursday. But, at 8 p.m. Thursday, Hwy. 14/61 will be closed in both directions through 5 a.m. Friday.

During that time, there will be detours through town. Northbound and southbound traffic will be redirected on to South Chestnut Street until it reconnects with the highway.

Motorists who are traveling east to La Crosse will have to use this detour.

The lane closure happening now includes the northbound right lane and turn lane of Hwy 14/61 — north of the intersection with South Third Street and Hwy 14/61/16.
