Aquinas responds to La Crosse news report of anti-LGBTQ+ education session

The Aquinas Catholic Schools are responding to a recent La Crosse Tribune report on a meeting for teachers and administrators which was described as “Anti-LGBTQ+ education.”

Superintendent Thomas Reichenbacher says the report on a Friday presentation about transgender issues was inaccurate. The superintendent says there was not a “letter to instructors and staff” from the Diocese of La Crosse or the Aquinas Schools, saying that attendance for the program was mandatory.

The report says a letter was sent to staffers, saying that the program would reject the importance of gender-inclusive education in the local Catholic schools.

Reichenbacher says the program presenter called on the audience to listen to people experiencing transgender issues. He also says no person, especially a Catholic school teacher, “should condemn, demean, or otherwise bully anyone,” especially anyone dealing with transgender issues.

The expectation is with “mainstream media” they will never tell the story down the middle.
Did not expect this from the Tribune.
