Alternate-side parking in Onalaska will end two weeks earlier than usual

Onalaska is changing its alternate-side parking season, ending it early this winter, starting next week.

The city will end the alternate-side rules on March 15, instead of the traditional ending date of April 1.

That brings Onalaska in line with La Crosse, which has ended the odd-even parking regulation on March 15 for a few years now.

Onalaska also has decided to start the alternate-side enforcement later than in the past, beginning on Dec. 1, instead of Nov. 15, which is the earliest date La Crosse requires odd-even parking for the winter.

The city of Onalaska explained that the new dates better correspond to when record snowfalls have occurred.
