Two men charged in a recent triple murder in La Crosse have entered pleas of “not guilty.”

Nya Thao and Khamthaneth Rattanasack entered their pleas today before Judge Elliott Levine, and will be scheduled for trial on homicide charges.

The suspects are accused of fatally shooting three young men…Nemo Yang, Peng Lor, and Trevor Maloney…outside a La Crosse County quarry on July 23rd, reportedly because Yang owed $600 to Rattanasack.

The pleas did not come until this week because the suspects had to find defense attorneys first.

Rattanasack has agreed to provide a DNA sample in preparation for a trial. Police say he had been released from prison, and he and Thao forced the victims and a female companion to travel to the town of Hamilton quarry.

Allegedly, Thao was given a gun and was told to shoot the men. The suspects were captured a few days later in separate cities in the Wausau area.
