Several spots in Houston and Winona Counties will be targeted for treatment this year, to fight off the gypsy moth.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has identified 13 locations where insecticide will be used to eliminate the pest that can damage forests.

Winona, Dakota, and Brownsville are among the communities scheduled to get treatment.

Residents in those areas will be contacted about when the treatments occur, between May and July.
