A Buffalo County man accused of killing his wife in January will be scheduled for trial.

Jonathan Medeiros of Nelson has waived his preliminary hearing, and is due back in court in March to enter a ‘not guilty’ plea.

Medeiros is charged with 1st degree murder for the January 24th shooting death of his wife Jolene, at their home.

Police say Medeiros was drinking before he fired a shotgun in his bedroom during an argument.  His wife was shot in the head, and there were holes from two gunshots in the bedroom wall.

A criminal complaint says Medeiros admitted to grabbing the gun, shooting once, and then firing a second shot at his wife when she screamed at him.
