The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reported two separate incidents last week in which unidentified vehicles left damage in separate accidents.

The first happened Monday, Dec. 21. James Kellogg reported a vehicle that was traveling west on Chadwick Hollow Road in the town of Liberty. The driver swerved, crossed the center line, went off the road and through a fence on the north side of the road. The driver continued driving through the field and fence until back onto the road. Both the driver and the vehicle are unknown.

The second incident happened Christmas Eve. Gerald and Kathryn Boardman of DeSoto each had vehicles legally parked on State Hwy. 82 in the village of DeSoto, according to law enforcement. An unidentified vehicle traveling west drove off the left shoulder of the road and down an embankment. That vehicle hit the two parked along the highway.

Both cases are still under investigation. The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
