Democrats in Wisconsin are calling on home-grown celebrities to help get voters to the polls for Tuesday’s election.

On Sunday, a Zoom session for phone-bank workers in the La Crosse area featured an appearance by “West Wing” actor Bradley Whitford, who lived in Madison when he was young.

Whitford says President Trump is “not going to steal this election.”  He accuses Republicans of voter suppression, for allegedly trying to make people think their votes don’t count.

Whitford says he wants to see Washington look more like “The West Wing,” and not like “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and he’s been on both TV series, along with the movie “Get Out.”

Whitford was asked what he thinks his “West Wing” character, Josh Lyman, would be doing in a Trump administration.

He joked that Josh might be yanking his hair out, and he refers to Trump as ‘insane’ and ‘dysfunctional.’
