A plea hearing has been scheduled later this month for the La Crosse man accused of shooting a city police officer last year during a domestic incident.

Allen Kruk’s hearing on an attempted murder charge is set for August 25th, before Judge Ramona Gonzalez.

Kruk and Officer Dustin Darling exchanged gunfire during a police call to a 9th Street home in August of last year.

Darling was wearing a protective vest.

Kruk was hospitalized for several days after he was shot by the officer.

Kruk is charged with attempted murder and two other counts in the incident.
