Markussen resigns as Chamber of Commerce CEO

The head of the La Crosse Chamber of Commerce has stepped down. 

Vicki Markussen has announced her resignation in a letter, citing her intention to ‘pursue other options.’ 

Markussen has been CEO of the Chamber for six years. 

Among her accomplishments during that time, Markussen counts moving the Chamber into a new headquarters near City Hall, working on the group’s 150th anniversary, and helping the local business community during the COVID-19 outbreak. 

To local businesses, Markussen says “I will miss you. Keep growing. Keep connecting. Keep speaking up.”

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
