Americans have been urged not to travel during the spread of COVID-19, but workers for Wisconsin’s state travel agency are not sitting idle.

Tourism secretary-designee Sara Meaney tells WIZM’s La Crosse Talk that lots of future planning is happening now, for when travel restrictions are lifted.

Meaney is happy to see state residents getting outdoors for exercise, but points out that many state parks have been closed because of unauthorized large gatherings and vandalism.

Meaney says Wisconsin has plenty of friendly, kind, and warm people.

The tourism office is promoting a program called #HowWiHelp,” where they urge state residents to share pictures on-line of ways that people throughout the Badger State are helping each other.
