A resolution to achieve 100 percent renewable energy in La Crosse within the next 30 years was approved by a city council committee Monday.
The resolution also includes the more immediate goal of having 25 percent renewable energy sources in 2025.
A representative of the La Crosse Sierra Club said at the meeting that 130 other American cities have made a similar commitment to cut back on fossil fuel use.
