Future for Wisconsin GOP as easy as ABC: Avoid Being Complacent
Training and recruiting are likely to be high on the to-do list for Wisconsin Republicans, going into the 2020 election.
The state party has its annual convention in Oshkosh, Wis., this weekend, meeting for the first time since keeping control of the legislature but losing all statewide elections last fall.
The chair of the La Crosse County Republicans, Bill Feehan, hopes to find many people willing to work on the presidential campaign and other races, and he wants to have permanent county headquarters by early next year.
Feehan said the party has to avoid being complacent about its chances in the coming elections.
He also said “small things” added up to lead to Gov Scott Walker’s loss to Tony Evers last fall, including some Republican discontent about the Foxconn development.
Feehan, however, is encouraged by what he said were grassroots efforts that helped elect conservative Brian Hagedorn to the state Supreme Court last month.

The Supreme Court election was in April.
