City could partner with Foundation to help finance community projects
Local government and private fundraising groups may be able to work together in La Crosse on some projects to benefit the community.
A partnership between City Hall and the La Crosse Community Foundation has been given the OK by the city council finance committee.
The plan seems to be partially motivated by the all-abilities playground project being built at Trane Park.
Fran Formanek, president of the Trane project committee, said there are “a lot of pluses” to the plan, because many other charitable groups may want to participate.
A resolution to set up the partnership specifies that no public funds will be put into the Community Foundation’s account.
