Looks like the city of La Crosse has more work to do to get the lead out of the La Crosse River marsh.

The La Crosse Board of Public Works voted Monday to review steps that have been taken already and to prepare a report on what to do next to clean the marsh.

A consulting firm is asking the city to expand its efforts to clean lead pellets out of the marsh, years after lead shot ended up in the water. The lead accumulated after decades of trap shooting by the gun club at Myrick Park.

The next round of cleanup could last much of this year or longer.
