Dancers sculpture in Pump House lot could be moved

One piece of public art in downtown La Crosse could be moved soon, and it’s not the Hiawatha statue.

The city arts board is discussing new locations for the ‘Dancers’ sculpture, on display in the Pump House parking lot.

Those possible locations include a move across Front Street, to the Weber Center entrance, or a sidewalk spot next to the La Crosse Center parking ramp at 3rd and Jay.

Organizers of the Artspire festival, held every June in and around the Pump House, would like the Dancers to be moved sometime before this year’s event so Artspire could have more exhibit space.
