Dancers sculpture in Pump House lot could be moved

One piece of public art in downtown La Crosse could be moved soon, and it’s not the Hiawatha statue. 

The city arts board is discussing new locations for the ‘Dancers’ sculpture, on display in the Pump House parking lot. 

Those possible locations include a move across Front Street, to the Weber Center entrance, or a sidewalk spot next to the La Crosse Center parking ramp at 3rd and Jay. 

Organizers of the Artspire festival, held every June in and around the Pump House, would like the Dancers to be moved sometime before this year’s event so Artspire could have more exhibit space.    

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
