Evers in town, as UW System Regents meet at UW-La Crosse
Gov.-elect Tony Evers was in La Crosse Thursday.
Evers attended the UW System Board of Regents meeting at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Student Union building that opened last year.
It was the first regents meeting on campus in the last five years.
Evers advocated for more funding of the college system, especially if the regents continue tuition freezes.
The regents also passed through a request by the system that would give employees a 3 percent raise for the next two years.
A potential raise for UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow is on the agenda for today’s meeting.
System President Ray Cross recently reprimanded Gow for his choice to bring former porn star Nina Hartley to speak during free-speech week.
