High cash bond upheld for gang rape suspect accused of violating house arrest
The cash bond for a 16-year-old gang rape suspect in the La Crosse jail will remain at $2,500.
A judge has ruled against changing the bond for Dominique Hister, who goes on trial in the spring for allegedly taking part in a gang assault on two teenage girls in a La Crosse garage.
He pled “not guilty” Wednesday to bail jumping, stemming from riding an unlighted bike on the street at night while under house arrest.
Defense attorney Stephen Sawyer said he warned Hister against doing such things.
Hister was not wearing his GPS bracelet during the bike ride.
He claims the bracelet broke off and it still has not been returned to the jail.
