Gov. Walker makes one more push for votes in La Crosse, the day before the election
The race for governor of Wisconsin is a virtual tie, one day before the election.
But incumbent Republican Scott Walker says the race against Tony Evers should not be close, because of how much Walker’s team has improved the state’s economy in eight years.
While campaigning at a La Crosse factory on Monday, Walker told reporters in La Crosse that lies about health care policies from the opposition have made the contest close, while voters who know the facts support his policies.
Walker told workers with the Dakota Supply Group, formerly the W.A. Roosevelt Company, that Democrat Evers should be “ashamed of himself” for supporting health care changes more in line with Obamacare.
The governor also held up a “Yes, We’re Open” business sign, to argue that Wisconsin remains open to new companies and to business expansion.
Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch also appeared with Walker at DSG, speaking of how Walker helped her through a battle with colon cancer at the time they were both elected in 2010.
