Downtown La Crosse street closing this morning for utility work

Some late season construction could snarl traffic in downtown La Crosse starting this morning.

Second Street from Vine to La Crosse streets will be closed this morning for some utility work related to a private development.

The construction is, basically, along the stretch where the Cleary family is developing the old Northern Plow building.

That section of Second Street will be closed for an estimated two weeks depending on weather.

The city says the street should be open again by Nov. 2.
