Democrats who want some of Wisconsin’s top elected jobs arrived in La Crosse on Friday afternoon for a campaign rally at the Pearl Street Brewery.

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has sent the nominee for governor, Tony Evers, on a tour around the Badger State since Tuesday’s primary.

Evers was accompanied by Lieutenant Governor nominee Mandela Barnes…attorney general hopeful Josh Kaul…and treasurer candidate Sarah Godlewski.

As the current state school superintendent, Evers is comparing his record on education to that of Republican Governor Scott Walker, saying that Walker has done “everything in his power to disrupt our education process.”

Evers also pledges to take federal Medicaid money, which Walker has not done.

Barnes, a Milwaukee native, says Walker has been an “abject failure”as governor, and tells local Democrats that it’s “time for regular people to step up” in Wisconsin.

He also joked that he and Evers are the stars of “your next favorite sitcom: Mandela and Tony.”

La Crosse Congressman Ron Kind told the brewery crowd that there’s “no bigger midterm” election than this one.
