The La Crosse and Holmen school districts are losing students to Onalaska, if the latest report to the Onalaska School Board holds any weight.

The open enrollment numbers were given in a presentation to the board by director of instruction Roger Fruit.

Taking into account those looking to join the two communities from Onalaska, the districts would lose a combined 94 students if all were accepted.

Overall, 167 have submitted applications to join the district  with 133 requests coming from Holmen and La Crosse communities.

Fruit says seven have been rejected do to a lack of space in certain grades and 56 have applied to leave.
