Not everyone’s a fan of the new La Crosse County logo

Nine members voted no, arguing it’s too plain.

You may have seen signs around La Crosse using images of Grandad Bluff or the two bridges to symbolize the city.

Those, however, are not official signs of La Crosse County.

But, the county does now have its own logo, approved by the board Tuesday night – a logo that does not have bridges or the bluffs on it, and that bothered several county board members.

They argued last night that the logo is too plain and does not present a visual image of the county.

The symbol includes the year 1851, when the county was founded, and the slogan “Exceptional services, Extraordinary place.”

A vote on the logo designed by Vendi Advertising drew nine no votes from the 22 county board members who voted (there are 29 total board members).
