Take away demand,
lesson number of victims

There’s a new push to address human trafficking in Wisconsin.

State lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are getting together to tackle what appears to be a growing underground industry in the state

“Human trafficking is an insidious crime that isolates victims and exploits them for profit,” Wisconsin attorney general Brad Schimel said in comments this week recognizing January as Human Trafficking Awareness month.

Schimel says one of the goals in tackling human trafficking is to go after those who are buying sex.

Without the demand, says Shimel, there would be none of the hundreds of victims every year affected in Wisconsin.
