Warm teamps means Rotary Lights more popular than ever
Over 4,000 attended last Saturday
Chilly nights and falling snow might keep attendance down at the Rotary Lights display in La Crosse during a typical winter.
This year, however, is obviously not typical. It hasn’t snowed in about two weeks, and temps have been well above normal.
Which doesn’t make Rotary Lights a winter wonderland, but does lead it to being the best start ever in its 21-year history, according to president Pat Stephens.
That doesn’t just mean a lot of people are enjoying the ambiance. It also means food donations are pouring in – from 13,000 items in the first year to an average of 250,000 now.
Stephens says about 4,000 people walked through the light display last Saturday night.
