Fairway GM unsure where business will move
Don Weber buying lot
The days of a having a big billboard business in downtown La Crosse appear to be coming to an end.
Developer Don Weber has announced plans to buy the lot where Fairway Outdoor Advertising sits now on 3rd St., across from the county courthouse.
That’s apparently where a parking ramp will go as part of the big Lot C development.
Fairway general manager in La Crosse, Scott Arenz, said that he’s currently looking for a place to relocate the business. Arenz said he could either moving to another place or build something new, but he wasn’t exactly sure where, at this point about.
Three years ago, Fairway merged with Olympus Media which bought the sign company from Collins Outdoor Advertising in 2010. The Collins family had retained ownership of the lot where the business is located.
