La Crosse metro joins others in growing unemployment
The La Crosse metro area joined just about every other large population area in the state with a rising unemployment rate for June. Numbers from Madison show the La Crosse area’s June unemployment rate at 4.2%, up three tenths from the month before and just slightly lower than June of last year. Though the state also shows La Crosse with a few hundred fewer people employed than last year. The Madison and Appleton areas were the only ones to not show an increase in unemployment for June.
