Murdered Parents Trial Lingers
An Iowa man arrested in La Crosse last summer just after his parents were found dead is still waiting to go to trial. Last week, a western Iowa judge ruled that some statements made to police while Jonathan Neunaber was jailed in La Crosse cannot be admitted at trial. The judge says the state agent who interviewed Neunaber should have ended that interview when Neunaber repeatedly refused to give answers. Neunaber is accused of beating his 80-year-old mother to death in the family home last year. His father died of natural causes.
